De meisjes vinden het heerlijk. Rennen, dollen, spelen, zwemmen en dan in het warme zonnetje opdrogen. Life is good…
Zlata5 is een hondje wat heel graag buiten in de tuin is. Als ze overdag kan kiezen tussen buiten liggen of binnen, kiest ze voor buiten, op een groot dik kussen. Het lijkt of ze geniet van de buitenlucht.
Ze blijkt dol op de wandelingen in het (omheinde) bos. Lekker rennen. Ze hupt soms als een hert, maakt schijnbewegingen, rolt in het zand. Zlata5 geniet volop! Aan de lijn loopt ze rustig mee.
Zlata5 is een rustige bescheiden rushond. Het is een enorme knuffel. Soms tikje nerveus bij grote drukte. Bij harde geluiden schrikt ze. Ze is zeker niet schuw, rent ook niet weg, maar bij hard geluid kan ze even in elkaar krimpen. Ze kan perfect bij katten, deze negeert ze. In een roedel honden past ze ook. Als ze in huis/tuin wat hoort, kan ze blaffen. Niet overdreven, gewoon, ‘ik hoor wat baasje’.
Zlata5 houdt erg van bij je liggen en knuffelen. Ze heeft tamelijk wat liefde in te halen dus wij zoeken veel positieve aandacht voor haar. Autorijden is geen probleem voor deze dame. Alleen thuis zijn blijkt ook geen probleem samen met de andere honden.
Binnenkort gaan we wandelen in het centrum, lopen over de drukke markt, een ritje met de bus, kijken of liften in gebouwen leuk zijn etc. Binnenkort meer over dit bescheiden dametje.
Zlata used to be one of about 50 dogs kept by an old man in his country house, wich really was nothing else but a time-skewed dark shed without any windows and heating. Animals lived there for years, both during hot summers and really cold russian winters. Female dogs had puppies but they rarely survived. In the beginning of winter 2015-2016 the owner died and left his “dog shelter” to his old wife. Woman wasn’t ready for taking care of this quantity of dogs, so she fed them once a day or two with scraps and bread, didn’t let them out of the shed and didn’t leave them water (too heavy to carry). One day she finally got tired and complained to her neighbor, who was shocked by the animals’ condition. Thus the situation came out. There were many people ready to help, but the woman accepted help reluctantly and didn’t wish to leave animals as she considered that all of them still belonged to her late husband. Eventually volunteers managed to release the most part of dogs. Some of them found home, others got to public and private shelters. Zlata was among them. That was her chance for a new life. As she had a skin desease she first went to the clinic. Everything around was new for her. It was difficult to take her out for a walk because she wasn’t used for open space, sounds and strangers. But she was gratefull to her saviors and vets that treated her.
Since that time she changed a lot. Her name Zlata is the russian equivalent for english name Goldy and it really suits her! That is a precious dog filled with light and enthusiasm. She is full of energy but when at home prefers to rest silently on her sofa. Walks well on a leash. Is loyal to cats and easily finds a common language with other dogs except for small doggies of decorative breeds – can clash with them. Doesn’t spoil a thing in the house and doesn’t bark in vain. Can pretend to protect the house and territory, but isn’t aggressive to strangers at all. First can be rather afraid of unfamiliar men, that’s why she needs her own place in the house where she can feel safe. Trusts women from the first site and gets along with children (it is possible to see on video how quietly she walks with the woman she has met for the second time in her life). Goes well in the car, usually sleeps peacefully.
Zlata is about 5 years old, shoulder height 52 cm, weight 19 kg. Neutered, vaccinated.
