Sad, very sad news. Vim, new name Tweety got two epileptic strokes, trembling and shaking all the time. Not being able to walk. Presumably he had a brain tumor, so considering his age and his heartcondition and his pain, the doctor and adopter decided to let him go to dogs heaven. He has been with Linda only for two weeks, but she was already very attached to her Tweety. I’m so sorry for everybody who helped Tweety on his way to a good life. The last part of his life was full of love, good food, cuddling…

SEPTEMBER 2020

Vim in the frontseat on his way to his forever home. He will live with a brother of eleven, in a wonderful happy penthouse nearby a park and a small forest. He is a very inquisitive boy and although he is 14, we wish him many happy years to come.

This little dog was brought to a veterinarian clinic by his host with intention to put the dog to sleep, but even not because of age or any health problems, because of her new baby. She just doesn’t have time to take care of the dog anymore. Just think – the dog is 14 years old!!! And the family who loved him all these years just  throw out him as not needed thing.
Vim was in terrible condition: in his wool food stuck, already rotten food … the body is covered due to this allergy and small sores, dog terribly emaciated (1,5 kg). In clinic were made all kind of blood tests and other examinations to check his health. But surprisingly, for his age, he is quite healthy, not counting the external neglect. Have age-related hearing and vision problems. Increased creatine levels. The doctor recommended a special shampoo and low-fat food. The clinic calls me because nobody wanted to put asleep such a nice dog. I took him home, cut the wool, washed, treat his eyes. And started to walk everyday as with normal dog. Every day he feels better and better. He walks beautifully, enjoys life, jumps up stairs, communicates with other dogs. It seems that he has long forgotten about such simple joys of life.
At home he can pee on the litter, he knows it. During stay at home prefer to sleep and to seat in your hands or near you.  He is very fond of human communication.  He lacks warmth and care. Sometimes he begins to demand that he be allowed into the room if it is closed from him.  But he understands a stern voice, if you say “no”.  Very picky about food:  we offered several different foods, no strong appetite. Reacts very much to natural food (perhaps it was fed with this before). Chicken, scrambled eggs … barks and demands to be given it. Drinks pretty much water, but no diabetes. Maybe because of age – loves to drink and not too good apetite. The doctor recommended hypoallergenic or gastro dog food. Refuses both. Eats a little when understands nothing tasty for him.
I understand that the dog is already very adult and may not have long to live, but I really want to give him the opportunity to live this time in the family and in love and care.
