Her name reminds of the river Sava in Eastern Europe. Sava is graceful, grey (cold silver-steel hue), there are cold and warm colours in her hair, but cold colour prevails. Short-haired. Neutered. Anti-parasite treatment (against external and endoparasites) is provided, vaccinated.

Sava lived at a construction site not far from Moscow, by Pedelkino railway station. She slept inside the construction trailer. The workers did what they could, taking some care of her and three other dogs and feeding them. I came across this dog in autumn 2016 when going to volunteer cleaning-up work for children’s charity fund. I found occasionally the place of dogs’ living and got acquainted with site workers. They told me about four stray dogs they feed and they were going to take two of them after they finish this construction and move to another one, they were honest to say they will take only two dogs with them and the other two will be left here in the street as they cannot take too many dogs….Sava was pregnant at the moment about a month and it seemed horrible to have new abandoned puppies…It was necessary to take her to the clinic for neutering, I luckily had time to arrange it. Then I took her from the site to clinic , and after the surgery I made a firm decision. I could no way bring her back to the site. So decided to bring the dog to temporary holding and help her to get adopted.

Sava was living in a private mini-shelter\temporary holding in Korolev, north-eastern part of the Moscow district up until recently. By the way, the site workers gave her this unusual name. She knew it well, and I found the name awesome too.

At the first time Sava was so scared. When I came to take her from the site to the clinic, she got held up to the ground and could not move at all. It was a new experience for her and she expected something wrong. With men’s help I tооk her to the car, she was shaking like a leaf. Trying to caress her, I embraced the dog and spoke to her long, I told her where I was going to bring her after that. Then Sava became more quiet, stopped shaking laid and slept for a while. She was safe now, but when we came to clinic I need to find someone to carry her, as she was frightened at the second time in a new place. When she was in clinic, Sava couldn’t go for a walk that time. But our first walk was near the holding, she walked on the leash fir the first time, and it was a success!

Sava turned to be very sociable. When she knows you are wishing well to her, she is quiet and open-hearted, thought she is an introverted dog

Eats with pleasure, she was given satisfying tasty meal – boiled beef and chicken with cereals (buckwheat, rice). Her menu card also includes canned food, containing no preservatives or GMO. She can be indoors or outdoors and slept inside the house. Kept company with the other dogs (there were about 40 of them). Also loves boxes and compartments of different kind – she nestled in and open cage as she saw it.

But worse things were waiting….The fire happened in the house\private shelter and the whole house burned down. Most of the animals were urgently taken to the nearest shelter to avoid burning. Sava has survived the fire and stayed alive! A heroic dog. We went to take her from that shelter and were so happy we found her there! We didn’t recognize her at once, but she did and jumped at us. We took Sava to another temporary holding in Istra region, Moscow district. Now she is getting used to new company of 15 dogs, eats well, but has no intention to stay outdoors after all that…I do hope, now everything in her life will be okay.

Sava is a frisky girl, ladylike, sensible and tactful. She loves hugging and “dog massage”(rubbing), and can provide it to you! Emotional and tender dog. A wonderful soul. She can be cautious, but she opens herself to you when feels you are friendly. Then she is all yours! The one who will take care and love this dog, will be happy with her and get her response too. Sava is friendly with children as well.

Sava strains a little bit on the leash. She has no car sickness. Her first car experience was not easy, but she got used to travelling by car rather quickly.

Sava can be good for a single person (maybe an introverted person too), and for a couple, intelligent middle-aged people. Inviting atmosphere is of great importance for her – then she feels at home. I think it is not preferable for her to stay alone for a long time.

Now she has lost some weight and has some burns, but she will come alive again. When she gets into shape again, new photos and videos will follow. Sure, this long-suffering dog deserves the best family!
