AUGUSTUS 2021

Zo’n 3 maanden geleden is Lara bij ons terecht gekomen. Ondanks de hele voorgeschiedenis schrok zij ons niet af en waren we direct vastberaden om Lara een nieuw, goed thuis te geven.

Ze voelt zicht ondertussen helemaal thuis hier tussen de andere beestjes. Ze is een echte waker, want niets of niemand mag hier passeren aan huis of ze heeft het gehoord en reageert met geblaf als een echte waakhond.

Vanaf dag 1 is ze heel aanhankelijk aan mij, ze volgt mij overal. Als ik ga slapen, gaat ze mee, ga ik naar het toilet, gaat ze mee, ga ik naar buiten, gaat ze mee, verzet ik 1 stap, is ze daar ook …

Het is een echte lieverd. Al moeten we wel nog waakzaam zijn, want ze durft nog steeds eens happen bij onverwachte situaties. Gelukkig iedere keer niet erg …

Ze is ook wel al veel rustiger geworden dan in het begin, want toen stond ze iedere minuut klaar met haar speeltjes om te spelen. Nu is ze rustig, als ik rustig ben of met iets bezig ben.

We zijn heel blij met haar!

Lara is in België sinds 2019. Zij is een jonge, energieke, lieve, aanhankelijke mix Labrador die niets liever doet dan spelen, wandelen, rennen. Apporteren vindt ze heerlijk en kan ze heel lang volhouden. Ze gaat netjes zitten als je haar dit vraagt, laat los op commando en brengt de bal terug. Wat dat betreft is Lara al goed opgevoed. Ze kent de commando’s en wil graag werken voor haar baas.

Maart 2021
Lara is in opvang bij een verantwoordelijk foster gezin van MyMartin. Lara kan een aantal uurtjes goed alleen blijven, ze woont bij twee rustige sociale teefjes. Een reutje lijkt wel haar voorkeur te zijn, haar reu vriendje daagt ze graag uit voor een spel. Naar katten toe is ze nieuwsgierig, rennende katten wil ze achteraan. Autorijden vindt ze prachtig, braaf aan de lijn en kan perfect loslopen. (luistert uitstekend), ook tussen de paarden door geen probleem.

De ideale hond zou je dus zeggen … maar er zijn nog wel een aantal aandachtspunten waar met haar aan gewerkt moet worden. In bepaalde situaties kan Lara zich ongemakkelijk en onzeker voelen wat stress met zich mee brengt. Met de juiste begeleiding is ze goed te trainen.

Kennismaking met mensen die ze niet kent: In het begin kijkt Lara de kat uit de boom maar al snel begint de lol als we met haar gaan spelen! Spelenderwijs kan ze op haar tempo wennen aan onbekenden mensen.

Wandelen aan de riem, langs mensen en andere honden, vindt Lara (nog) spannend. Jij moet de leiding nemen, en moet voor de hond beslissen. Door haar steun, vertrouwen en extra aanmoediging  te geven waar nodig, komt het goed.

Lara wordt niet geplaatst bij kinderen en wij zoeken een rustige leefomgeving met een ervaren actief baasje dat veel tijd voor haar heeft.

Voor Lara zoeken we:

• Eigena(a)ren die veel thuis zijn (óók na coronatijd)
• Geen kinderen / weinig bezoek
• Een huis met omheinde tuin (waar ze kan rennen)
• Actievelingen die openstaan voor training/sport/spel met Lara
• Een rustige persoonlijkheid mét hondenervaring

7. History of a dog

In the beginning of September 2018, late in the evening someone brought and threw three small puppies into the trash (presumably they were a month) – two girls and one boy. They were noticed, kind people fed them and began to look for where to attach them and as a result there was a distortion for them. It is true by the time when a rescue team was sent out for the puppies, the boy disappeared somewhere and only two girls were left in the trash. The girls were taken away. One of these babies was Lara. Lara and Dora (as the second girl was called) grew up in a house with three adult dogs and another puppy girl named Torres, who was a month older than them. Lara is very playful and active. She likes to rush for a laser pointer, play toys and splash around in bowls of water. Dora and Thores settled down pretty quickly and Lara was very worried about this. Now she turned on all the games, loves to rage and get older dogs, but always hears when asked to calm down. She appreciates the attention and human society. When she sees that they have paid attention to her, she begins to dance and wag her tail. Still lives on the same foster and is very looking for a house. She needs a very good and kind family. Lara deserves it!

8. Food – no allergies have been identified. Eats dry food / canned food. Loves dog treats.

9. Character – general temperament – active, tied to the owner, tipical puppies character.

10. Attitude to adults – alert to strangers, at first acquaintance, coward and with persistent attention can growl. Work is underway on this. Those who have recognized their trust completely.

11. Attitude to children – in a family without small children because she feels not comfortable in their society (noises too high), able to stay with adult kids

12. Attitudes towards other males and bitches – she is afraid of unfamiliar dogs, in case of an attack, if possible, she will try to escape, otherwise she will defend herself (try to defend, too small for defending)

14. Attitude towards other animals – unknown. Shows no interest to birds

15. How to walk on a leash – accustomed to the leash. In case of extreme interest in the object or strong fear, it may begin to pull. With a calm atmosphere – walks obediently ahead of the person.
