Changa (word meaning – the nation in Africa, Nigeria) is a young active funny dog, aged 1 year or a year and more. Changa is a short-haired, not all-black dog, her basic color is brown, but her face looks like it is painted by a black chalk or charcoal. This brings extra charm to her.

I met Changa first in October 8th, 2016, in Peredelkino- Moscow district, this day I will never forget. I went there for volunteer work- cleaning-up of the area, organized by children’ charity fund. The dog lived at construction site near the railway station and was fed there by the site workers. I was going towards the station to take the train to Moscow when a saw a small dog out of the tail of my eye. The dogs seemed to notice me out of the tail of her eye also and went straight to me. She touched my bag by her teeth trying to play . A very touching dog with a clever face… I saw he wanted me to take her from the street. I asked the personnel at the construction site about her, they told it is a stray dog who came here not a long time ago. There were three other dogs they also fed and took care of. It turned they were doing to take two of them when going to another site after finishing works here, but they cannot take all 4 dogs….My thoughts were only with this little doggie since then. I went to the site again and again, I haven’ t seen her for some time and began to worry, but also came to see her.
I know she remembered what I told her- “ I will try to help you”. She was waiting. When I came to take another dog, her friend, I saw Changa again after some period of time I was happy I found her again! Changa wanted to go with me too, but I cannot take two dogs at once and we decided I will take her next time. And next time it happened so quickly? I took her to the car and went to the pet clinic. While waiting in the clinic, Changa was looking with attentively, she was interested in everything. After she was operated, post-surgical care within 10 days, I took her to private shelter/temporary holding.
In February this year, there was a fire in the shelter/temporary holding where she was. Many of the animals died and some were lost. Changa narrowly escaped death, though got terrible burns on her body and was much stressed…The dog also looked very skinny, seemed like she wasn’t fed for the last month. It revealed the owner of the holding sunk into depression and didn’t take care of the animals since then.
We took Changa to another house, she was recovering for several months. She is back from the hell now, and feels alright. There are white spots (albinotic) locally (where the burns were before) on her hair. A node from the burn has also appeared recently on her body near those spots in that area- it is exactly same as the previous burns.
She loves to play a lot with other dogs, sleeps inside the house. She is very clever, attentive, sociable, friendly towards people and dogs. Cannot say about cats for sure, but she indicates cats in the street. Though Changa is well-disposed, and also lively and smart. She is interested in everything happening. She is always full with joy, fine as a fiddle. I never see her crying or being sad. And – Changa makes everyone smile! She can think over whatever you tell hero or smell the sound she hears. She in quiet in general, but she became hyperactive, wants to run around and above…She doesn’ t know yet what she wants….I think she will be teachable and well-balanced in the family.
She gets along nicely with children.
The girl eats very well, eats meat, cereals and canned food.
Changa often strains at the leash, because her life is in full swing and she is not leash-trained yet. She goes by car well, she is quiet in has no car sickness. She really loves going by car. She looks so interested, she has an inquiring mind.
I believe Changa is good for any family- alone or with other dogs, or children. This girl’s sense of humor is incredible, she is happy to share it with you! She is quick-witted. Changa is a dog of enormous brain, will be a true friend.
