Borya was ooit een huishond en is door zijn eigenaren naar het asiel gebracht. Hij was toen nog een jonge hond… Ze hebben nooit meer naar hem omgekeken.
Als je goed naar Borya kijkt zie je Barsoi trekjes: de lange snuit, de lange rug en het rustige gedrag. We vermoeden dat Borya ooit is aangeschaft als Barsoi en toen bleek dat er toch wat ander DNA in zat, naar het asiel is gebracht.
Borya is een kalme hond die het liefst bij zijn baasje in de buurt is. Ondanks zijn imposante verschijning is Borya een wat verlegen, lieve en dankbare hond. Hij kan zowel de enige hond in huis zijn als bij een andere niet-dominante hond. Gewoon een rustige hond die prima past bij mensen met hetzelfde energie niveau.
Wandelen heeft nu nog zijn voorkeur, aan rennen is hij na een jarenlange asiel ervaring nog niet toe. Als zijn spieropbouw op peil is zal hij zeker weer plezier krijgen in rennen (ook Barsoi-eigen). Hij kan al wel echt dieselen – lekker op een gematigd tempo afstanden maken.
Bij het opvanggezin woont hij samen met een wat ouder teefje en dat gaat prima. Er zijn ook nog andere, niet dominante honden waar hij gezellig mee opwandelt. Hij loopt rustig mee aan de lijn en heeft inmiddels door dat behoeftes buitenshuis worden gedaan.
Borya is een echte knuffelaar en geniet van elke aanraking die hij krijgt. Massages ondergaat hij gaarne. Bij onbekenden zal hij eerst even de kat uit de boom kijken, maar na een paar geruststellende woorden en een aai over zijn bol geeft hij zich gewonnen.

7. Borya….. used to be a domestic pet. I do not know his life story before the shelter, just that the family he lived in, brought him and passed him to the shelter still a young dog, and since then they have never been interested in.
Most likely he just bored them, they played and threw. The first year in The shelter was for Borya not just heavy, but very heavy. He did not come out of the cage, he did not communicate with anyone and very strongly sad. People were not approached at all, had to leave a bowl of food in a cage and go outside, only then he went out and ate. But luckily love, care and Patience did his good work, Borya slowly began to trust people, began to allow to himself, allowed to cuddle, began to come out of the aviary and about a miracle, gave to put on a collar and the first time went for a walk. And Borya started a new life, he walks perfectly on Leash, perfectly communicates with other dogs, despite its rather impressive size, he is a shy, kind and grateful dog. I would like to see such a beautiful and elegant dog finally found a loving family.

10. Attitude to adults – At the first acquaintance with strangers behaves quietly, (a little wary, but quickly passes), attempts to show aggression, growling was not once. With familiar people behaves absolutely friendly, caressing, as if demanding attention.

21. It is better to be the only dog in the family, but also is able to be the second one, given his calm temper, if the first dog will not be intrusive towards him.
