Yanis de Rus(tige) is nu officieel Belg.

Yanis wordt ontzettend graag aangehaald en je ziet hem genieten als hij lekker achter zijn oortjes wordt geaaid of liefdevol wordt toegesproken. Yanis is leergierig en een geweldige hond om een cursus mee te doen. Yanis is echt een slaapkop, maar als er gewandeld wordt is hij lekker actief en wil met andere honden kennismaken en spelen.

Yanis is door een vrijwilligster opgemerkt in een tijdelijk asiel. Ze was direct zo gecharmeerd van hem dat ze hem, als opvanghond, mee naar huis heeft genomen. In dit asiel worden honden gevaccineerd, geneutraliseerd en in de meeste gevallen weer op straat gezet of naar een giga gemeentelijk asiel gebracht. Ze zag Yanis’ potentie: Hij ziet er echt zo stoer uit, maar wat een klein hartje – gewoon één grote knuffelbeer.

We zijn er van overtuigd dat Yanis ooit een huishond moet zijn geweest. Hij kent zo veel commando’s en gedraagt zich binnenshuis voorbeeldig. Hij loopt netjes mee aan de lijn en is zindelijk. 

Houding tov volwassenen: Goed; Yanis is echt een mensenhond en heel trouw. 

Houding tov kinderen: Goed.

Houding tov andere honden: Goed, Yanis speelt graag met soortgenoten en kan zeker als tweede hond worden geplaatst.

Houding tov katten: Bij voorkeur een omgeving zonder katten. Bij belangstelling kunnen we zijn houding met katten testen.

Kan alleen zijn: Goed, Yanis blijft rustig en gaat lekker liggen slapen.

Autorijden: Goed. Yanis vindt autorijden eigenlijk helemaal geweldig.

Gezondheid: Yanis is gevaccineerd, gecastreerd, gechipt en heeft een dierenpaspoort.

Voorkeur woonomgeving: Bij voorkeur een huis met een tuin waar Yanis lekker kan rondstruinen en wat energie kwijt kan.

Voorkeur adoptanten: Yanis is zeker een leuke gezinshond; hij wil er zo graag bij horen.Een alleen wonend persoon of koppel dat kan genieten van deze Grote Vriendelijke R(e)us maakt deze, super aanhankelijke hond zeker ook gelukkig. U krijgt de grootste knuffelbeer die er rond loopt.

Yanis, male, around 1,5-2 years old (was born approximately in 2018), height 60 cm, weight 32 kg. Vaccinated, chipped, neutered, de-wormed and regularly treated from all external parasites. Walks well on a leash. Right now lives in a foster family.

Yanis has a fantastic fur coat and a charming muzzle that should be kissed hundreds of times. This dog is really the one to sped time with: stroke him, scratch behind his ears, tell him nice words that he understands so well. I discovered Yanis at a temporary shelter, where stray dogs are delivered for being vaccinated, doctored and then either let out again on the street or handled over to a municipal shelter. Municipal shelters accommodate huge number of dogs and it is really difficult for a volunteer or a potential owner to notice a dog there.

It did not take me long to decide to take Yanis under my protection. I hope to find a loving family for this fantastic guy that he deserves so much. Yanis’ looks of a brutal male hide behind a tender and cuddling calf, something one understands while communicating with him.

Yanis loves long walks and enjoys the company of humans so we are sure that he used to be a house pet. He knows all the commands and instructions, he knows how to behave at home or in a car. Yanis gets along well with other dogs, male and female, loves all people. He is also OK with cats, does not attack them but shows quite an interest in them. It seems that Yanis has never known cats and when he saw one at the foster home, he wagged his tail and decided to catch the cat. We decided not to take risks as the space was quite big and it was difficult to introduce cats and dogs to each other in such an environment. I think that in the nearest future we will be able to test Yanis’ attitude towards cats and know for sure how it goes (in
any case if there is such a request, we will do it).

Yanis is ideal for car rides, he does not get sick and sits calmly at his place. Yanis does not mark anything at home and does not spoil anything. Mostly he sleeps but when he goes out for a walk he loves to play with other dogs. It is important for Yanis, as for many other dogs, to be with a human, he is a real companion. I think he will enjoy visiting a dogs’ playground and take lessons with an instructor.

Yanis eats natural food (meat, poultry, porridge) and industrial food as well. He sleeps at home in a dog’s bed and will hardly object a sofa but we have not tried it. Yanis can live in any family of any age. It is desirable that the family lives in a house with a garden as Yanis is quite a big dog and needs quite a lot of personal space.
