OKTOBER 2021

Vandaag met Lika naar het honden losloop gebied geweest. Lekker even rennen en heel veel snuffelen.

Update july 2021: Lika is good with children, she is good with everyone. And she well in the car, it’s just not necessary to feed her on the trip.

We think that she was born in 2014-2015. Lika’s looks are quite unusual. She has a rich fur coat and a shortened little muzzle that makes her resemble a baby-face. Lika’s character is good, she is friendly and playful although she is not quite into playing now. She has recently brought puppies and, as a true mother, she did and still protects her babies that are now 3 months old.

In general, Lika is a dignified lady. We found Lika and her two babies on a construction market. It was not a problem to put her with the puppies into a car as she did not protest at all. Probably she was feeling that life was taking a better turn, but obviously she did worry. There were dog houses built on that market and the dogs were fed quite well but hardly anyone would bother about sterilisation. And it is also well-known that long life is not guaranteed for a stray dog. So, as soon as we knew about this pack, we decided to put them with a foster family.

Lika sleeps in a place allocated to her and her puppies. She is getting well along with many dogs and cats that also live there. As long as she is nursing her babies she does not need a company of other dogs much. Lika gets a bit sick in a car but she stays calm and balanced. Lika is friendly with all people. We have not had a chance to test her attitude towards little kids but she is definitely fine with teenagers above 10 years old. Lika will benefit from living in a private house with a garden. We think that she can be adopted by a family of any age.

Some information about her health. When we took Lika to the vet for sterilisation and general examination, we found out that one gum grew bigger a bit covering molars on the left. The vet took the material for a lab test and got the result. The gum’s enlargement is of benign character.
